with first degree murder. funeral services meantime for pratt are scheduled for tomorrow. >>> another big story we are following on the news edge at 11:00, a prince george's county mother charged with felony murder after leaving her child alone in a hot car for seven hours. the 2-year-old was found dead strapped in his car seat. fox 5's stacey cohan has the latest on the story. >> neighbors say that 40-year- old karen murphy, they strongly defended her. she's a married mother of three and the commonwealth attorney claims, though, this is not the first time she forgot her child in a car. murphy left her home june 17th to head to work but allegedly forgot her son was strapped in the back seat. she left work around 4 p.m. and drove home never noticing her son ryan was in the back seat. she realized her mistake when her husband called wondering why the boy was not in daycare. meantime the commonwealth attorney says murphy left the boy strapped in the family van back in january but retrieved him quickly when the daycare called her office wondering if ryan was coming in that day. >> the law pro
. by the way, they're gone. the issue is campaign finance regularities and big sums are involved. kwame brown spent much of the day chairing a committee on of the whole meeting of the d.c. council. his attorney spent the morning at the city's board of elections and ethics. the issue for brown is not the expensive leases for luxury suvs, but campaign activities for his race for city council in 2008. william sanford, the general council alleged that brown's campaign committee failed to list all of its donors and expenditures. the amounts are big sums. this is one example. by failing to -- 53 exend tours, totaling 169,439.49 in the total sum of expenditures that were made by the committee. >> reporter: some of kwame brown's campaign money was allegedly support to a firm owned by his brother. the attorney asked the board to take no action but to refer the whole matter to federal prosecutors. >> and while we do not agree, concede the allegations as being true, it's our position that as a matter of efficiency and expedition, this process is best served that this matter is referred to the office of

metro for you at fox 5. this morning several metro committees are meeting to discuss big changes. >> including a decision on putting the dulles station above or below ground and talking about ideas for new rail cars and possibly changing some names. sarah simmons is live at the foggy bottom station. >> reporter: there is several on the agenda for several different committees talking about different issues. one is escalators and elevators. there is a lot of complaints from riders. where we are here, they have been working on an escalator replacement program for some time. we have seen workers here this morning. part of what they will be talking about, one of the committees, a plan to increase the on time preventative maintenance because there has been a large increase in maintenance and service calls. metro is getting feedback from rider focus groups on the design of the new 7,000 series rail cars. the first ones are set to arrive next year for the silver line to dulles airport. now, along with that, they will be talking about the naming rights of the new stops on the line. there
